Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being awarded 10/10 marks at an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi is the Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci aged six. First competing in the national junior championships in Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. And in 1970, won. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals as well with one silver. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and became the first woman to ever dismount parallel bars using a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the entertainment industry began during her teens when she began skating figure along with her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business as a teenager. Early on she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades featured performances of ice-skating with actors.
