When I had a baby on me and others in the cradle, I would work 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! Everything was starting to fall in place, yet we were nowhere near done. It was going to take an enormous amount of effort as well as my favourite brands of furniture furnishings for this house. In order to stay within the budget, I started going with my boys to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Each week we would spend between Thursday and Saturday in estate sales and garage sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. Then I repainted and smoothed in the driveway in the week. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I got my passion to restore. When our house was decorated, I couldn't stop! There was an area on the market in town that I could sell my pieces. Eventually, my collection grew enough that the area that I was living in was not enough. The number of people who visited my house in one weekend to buy everything on the ground floor. My company Growing Days began here. Growing Days was more than an incredibly successful business, but also my sweet family. Being a new mom I was able to find the perfect balance to both start my own business as well as being a decent mother. Growing Days fit perfectly. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. This was a fantastic direction for my company, however I was also in need of an escape. I made the decision to take a break and spend some time at home, spending time with my kids. It was exactly what I was looking for at the time. After a couple of months, my phone started to begin to. The people who called me were asking for help with the interior decoration and renovations. A majority of these were those who had walked through my house during furniture open houses! The time flew by before I managed a large-scale home renovation company. The first step was to take clients on one at a pace that I felt at ease with. When you first told me about my home renovation business, I laughed. As I reflect back, it makes me giggle.
